EEEEEK! Time flies!

Apparently the last time I wrote anything on my blog was around Halloween! Wow. Time flies when you are busy! Unfortunately, I have a busy day ahead of me with Christmas cookie baking, present wrapping, house cleaning and grocery shopping....BUT, I wanted to put a picture of the dogs on here! Taking a picture of them together can be a pain, but we managed to get one.

I have tons of stuff to share, so I will try to be better about posting to my blog! Have a great Tuesday everyone and I will "see" you soon!

You Know You're a Spoiled, Rotten Beagle, When...

As you already know, the name of my blog mentions my two darlings; Molly and Toby (our beagle and lab.) However, I haven't given them much of the spotlight lately. This layout is from a Halloween scrapbook album that I did a while ago. I was looking through it and I saw this page with Molly when she was still a tiny puppy (and when she liked to have her picture taken AND when she would wear dog clothes...she's much too prim and proper for that now)

So in honor of fall, Halloween, and spoiled Beagles everywhere...I have posted this scrap layout so that Molly can have her 15 minutes of fame. :)

Uh Oh! Halloween is Around the Corner!

So, it's pretty obvious that fall is here. The leaves are changing and the air is cold and it just smells like fall. But the other day, it hit me. Halloween is around the corner! That means our 3rd annual Jenks Halloween Party is around the corner! EEEK! I'm not done with pictures from the last party! So....I did some scrappin! I have tons more to do, but I had to share this Layout that I did. The picture is not the best quality for some reason...but the Layout is of some friends and family playing a game at our last Halloween party. The chipboard letters and some of the little accents on the page are in glitter, but its kinda hard to see. :)

Enjoy...and get those costumes ready!

Crazy Duck Ride!

On the first weekend of September (Labor Day Weekend) my friend Amanda and I went on a little vacation. It was a girl's only trip and our destination was the Mall of America in Minnesota. We did make it to the Mall of America, and in fact, we had a great time. But before we hit the state of Minnesota, we stopped in Wisconsin. I had been to the Dells as a kid with my family, but Amanda had never been before. Our mission was simple; stop in the Dells for a quick lunch break, and then continue on. Yeah....

Our quick lunch break turned into a 6 hour afternoon in the Dells, where Amanda and I got on one of the famous Wisconsin Dells Duck Rides. Maybe it was the tour guide who drove our poor "duck" about 50 mph around steep curves and over hills...or maybe it was the fact that he hit the gas pedal and we dove straight into the water, soaking only ME, but Amanda and I laughed hysterically while we toured the Dells.

If (and when) Amanda see's this, she will not be happy with the picture I posted of her...but I couldn't resist. Her face explains it all. We have decided that we must take a trip back to the Dells...and we'll bring the guys this time. :)

What's Up With The Cold Weather??

I took the dogs for a walk last night and the three of us about froze to death! It is really starting to feel like fall, which makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I love the fall weather in Michigan AND because it means it is once again time for the annual JENKS HALLOWEE-N PARTY! But I get sad because I know once the summer is gone, it's only a matter of time before the crappy, cold and snowy weather arrives. :(

But since I have been feeling the chill of fall, it made me think of our Halloween party from last year. Michael and I decided to dress like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (Who were we kidding...right?)

I
included some pics of a scrapbook page I did that features my friends Annie, Jordan and myself. I couldn't resist adding my favorite "celebrity pose" where Michael and I tried to look like the "Brangelina" family... babies and all! :)

Wedding, Part 2

I am finally able to upload some wedding pictures. School has started again, so I am super busy...but my goal is to work on my blog when I have a free minute! (Ha-teachers with free minutes. That doesn't happen!)

I uploaded some family pictures and some of my hubby and I! Enjoy!

Wedding, Part 1

As promised, here is a sample of our wedding, which took place on June 13th. We have some awesome video footage and I'm working on making the files smaller so I can post them on here. But for now, here is a quick video of Michael and I cutting the cake!

Check back soon....there's more to come! Promise! :)

White chocolate cupcakes with peppermint buttercream frosting!

So, I did make those cupcakes...and OH MAN, they were good. Just thought I'd add a little picture so you can see how good they were!

Scrap room and cards!

So, lately I've been spending time making cards. I've made thank-you cards and birthday cards and cards for everyday occasions. I've been kinda proud of the cards I've made and thought I would share some of them. But I have noticed one thing; I really think I need either a Circut Machine or maybe one of the Slice Machines, because cutting things by hand is HARD and I'm not good at it! :) Oh well...maybe Santa will be good to me this year. :)

And since I'm sharing pictures of my "scrap cards," I wanted to show updated pics of my scrap room! It's been just about finished for a while now and I am in love with it! I have a few picture frames to hang on the walls and some odds and ends that I need to figure out a place for, but other than that-it's done! I spend a lot of time down in my scrap room....and so do Molly and Toby...and since they are the stars of this blog..I better include a pic of them as well!

I'm Back!

Hello out there!!

Thanks for stopping by! I know its been a while since my last post! Life has been busy! The wedding was excellent, the honeymoon was wonderful and now its time to get back to reality. So I figured that meant it was time to fix up the blog. I will be posting some pictures from the wedding as soon as I get them (and hopefully some of my bridesmaids will have some that I can use in the mean time) but until then, I wanted to post some quick pics from the Bachellorette Party. We had a blast in Chicago! My sister, bridesmaids and friends made the weekend memorable! We took tons of pictures, but these are the ones I feel are safe to post! Ha-Ha!

So check back soon! There's more to come.....gotta go for now...I have a beagle barking at the neighbors.

I haven't had time lately to work on my blog and I have been very sad about that! I've missed writing on here. BUT...I told myself that tonight I would write a small entry and include some pictures. Life is very busy right now with the last minute wedding plans. But I promise I will be back soon! Before I go...I wanted to share some great pictures from the bridal shower, which took place on April 19th. It was wonderful. Thank you to all of you who helped to make that day special for Michael and I.
With Love,
Megan

Mmmmm...Easter cookies

Made some cookies the other night and these are all that's left! :) It's hard to keep cookies around the house especially when they are home-made. They are very simple to make and I actually got the recipe from a shopping cart at the grocery store (haha) but you can find the recipe, if interested, at www.Landolakes.com. Look under Lemon Clove Cookies.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and happy Easter.

Lots of Love,

MKM

Spring Break!

Yay! Spring Break is here! So far I've spent my morning and afternoon playing around with scrap "stuff" and I decided to make some cute Easter cards! The idea behind them was to get rid of the TONS of tiny Easter erasers that I have. So I used a few and here are the results! :-)

2 Posts in One Day! Yay!

Hello Again!

Just wanted to share some updated pics of the Scrapbook Room as it is coming along so nicely! Michael and I painted (as you can see in the pictures) now it is time to start thinking of some cool ideas of how to fill the room!! I have some neat organizers and baskets to keep my things in...but I am always looking for advice or cool ideas!! Leave me a message and tell me what you think! oooh...and let me know if you like the color! I love it, personally, but I love anything green! Technically the paint color is called "Meadow Wind" but it reminds me of mint ice cream! :)

And...check out post #1! I got some cool stuff from my Aunt Alex. It will be my first set of new scrapbook materials to go into the new scrapbook room! :)

Big Changes!

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to write much on my blog. but I wanted to take the time now to write about a very big change that has happened. I recently accepted a new job teaching English at another local high school. This was a very big decision for me since I would be leaving the school I taught at for the last 4 years, but also, I would be accepting a job that would only last 9 weeks. (Unless I stay next school year.)

I spent a while thinking things over and talked my options with Michael and I am VERY happy to say that I made the right decision. Many of you may know already that this school year has been unpleasant for me. I was part-time at my old school and I found myself in a "I hate being a teacher" slump. I felt useless and unnecessary and I couldn't help but feel like I lost the "battle of my career." When I was offered this new job, I was nervous to be in a new school and to become a teacher to new students, but I accepted the job and I have been TEACHING and PRODUCTIVE for 3 weeks now. It's so amazing how much your attitude can change when you know you are doing something of purpose and when you work for a corporation that wants to see you succeed. I am reminded of why I wanted to become an educator every time I step foot into my new classroom. I am there for a purpose and I have a reason to go to work and I know I am making a difference, even if it is a small one.
I do miss my former students terribly. It is a weird feeling walking in the hallways and not knowing all their faces, but I am adjusting and I know my "old" students are adjusting as well. Many of my former students supported my decision to leave and their support really did help me make my decision.
So, here's to a new job and a new, productive and determined ME!

"Stimulus Package"

On my way to work the other day, I passed a small coffee shop that had a sign out front that read: "Stimulus Package...Any Size Coffee for $1.00."

I found that sign to be very clever and it made me think of my own "stimulus package" that I have recently created. So I would like to share with you a recipe but you must promise to forget about the calories. :)

Ingredients:
Couple scoops (or more) of vanilla ice cream
Ice Cubes (just a few)
3/4 cup milk

-And the best ingredient: 2Tbs. Ghirardelli White Mocha mix

Blend together in a blender and you have a fantastic white chocolate mocha shake! Enjoy and be "Stimulated."

Is that a Storm Trooper?

No, not a Storm Trooper...it's Michael. He's been working on our basement, getting it ready to turn into a family room-office-and spare bedroom combination. I'm very excited! The spare bedroom will be the home of my FUTURE SCRAPBOOK ROOM!!! yay! The pictures below show the outline of how my new scrapbook room will look. Anyone have any ideas?? I'd love to hear some ideas of how to create my own little craft room!

Tennessee

These are the pictures I took while we were on our mini vacation to Tennessee and Georgia. I took the camera with me when I went for a walk one morning. Unfortunately, we brought the cold weather from Michigan down to Tennessee with us, but we didn't have to deal with the snow! The house in the pictures belongs to Michael's cousin, Jack. We stay with him every time we come to visit. The horse, dog and (fake) turtle I met along the way.

Happy 1st Birthday Toby!

Happy Birthday Toby! Our lab turns a year old today. So I wanted to look back at some old pictures of him when we first brought him home. He was so tiny! He's so big now, that I often forget he was so small. The little picture of Molly (our beagle) and Toby together shows that they were best friends from the start!
-And of course...the first picture is of our big "Tubbers" as he is now, 100 pounds and all!
