Scrap Pages 16 and 17

Good morning! Just stopping by to post a couple more layouts that I did. These are pretty simple, nothing fancy. The layout of Michael and I is another one from our honeymoon album that I did. The other layout is of myself and some friends at the Henry Ford Museum, where we decided to play school with one of the exhibits. I'm hoping to get down in the ole' scrap room again today, so pehaps I will post more later.
Thanks for looking! Hope everyone is able to stay out of this heat!!

close-ups of my layout

Scrap Page 15

Hello out there! If there's anyone out there who looks at this blog, then welcome!! Its been a while since my last post. Summer is almost coming to an end for me since I go back to work the week of August 8th! UGH! I guess thats what I get for teaching in the state of Indiana. Anyhooo..just thought I'd stop by and share some layouts that are long over due. I've been down in my scrap room today for the first time in a while and I'm cranking out the pages. I haven't had much time or energy to get a lot done considering that the summer is flying by and I seem to be focused on more exciting things, like getting stuff ready for the baby's room!! We have a color and theme picked out, so its just a matter of getting everything put together!!

This layout is an old one that I did a while ago of my hubby and I on our honeymoon in Jamaica! The other pics I will post are close ups that show more detail on the page. Enjoy!! Hope to be back later!

Scrap Pages 12, 13, and 14-Family and Friends

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I have a few more pages to share with you. These layouts were completed just the other day. There are two views of the same layout in orange. It is of some friends and I while we were on a trip in Windsor Canada. The words on the layout say, "If friends were flowers, I'd pick you." I saw this layout in the Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine and thought I'd try my own version of it. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The other layout is from my family album, which is still a work in progress. There are a couple pics from my brother's Eagle Scout ceremony, which was a few years ago when he was 18.

On a side note, I am happy to announce that a few layouts ago, I reached my 50th layout that I completed for my scrap challenge. I am a tad bit behind on my challenge though, (I should have 65 layouts done but I only have 58 done so far.) but I'm getting there! This scrap challenge has been so much fun. I really enjoy reliving memories from past moments, family functions, trips with friends or holidays, etc etc. Plus, a friend of mine has recently become as obsessed with scrapbook as I am, so we scrap together and bounce ideas off one another. Its awesome. Recently we took a couple trips to some local scrap shops and bought all kinds of new stuff to use. Now if only I could get good enough to scrap for a living...oh well, a girl can dream. Well, I suppose I should do something a bit more productive today, like laundry.
Until then, leave a comment if you like what you see, or if you even if you don't like what you see you can leave a comment, just be nice about it. ;)

Scrap Pages 10 &11-Old Family Photos

Hello everyone! How's the cold weather and snow treating you? Hopefully you haven't gone too crazy yet! Spring is on the way...right? Right? Eh, nevermind. It's too cold.
So I have two more layouts to share. I am still working on my family album, trying to get some old pictures scrapped. I worked on a couple old pictures of me and my great aunt B.J. (Betty Jane.) The old pictures that I found were somewhat blurry, so taking a picture of the layout didn't work out so well but you can kinda see lil' ole' me and my great aunt. She passed away about 7 years ago but I really feel she would have loved scrapbooking. It would have been something she would have enjoyed.

The other layout is of my great aunt (same one as above) and my grandma Marge, or as we like to call her, Grandma Grandma. I found the black and white photo of them in a pile of my own pics. There's no date on the back so I'm not sure when it was taken. If I had to guess, I'd say that they are probably in their late 20's to early 30's in the pic. Next time I see grandma, I'll have to ask. I think this layout is so pretty. I love the color scheme and the black and white photo of my aunt and grandma is just gorgeous!

Well, that's all for now. More layouts to share soon. Stay warm out there.
Until then,
M.

Scrap Page #9-Me and the folks!

Hmmmm. Apparently I need to stop using my cell phone to take pictures of my layouts cause they don't look so good. Darn! I use my cell because it uploads on here so fast and I dont have to get the camera out, and then the cord, and then turn on the computer etc etc. Oh well. Note to self; the cell doesn't take good pics. :(

This layout I did last night while Michael was working late. I bought some of the materials from a kit at Scrapbook.com. Gotta give them a shout-out every once in a while. This picture is of myself and my parents at my friend Chrissie's wedding, which was back in September of 2008, I believe. I love this picture because we are having such a good time and it really shows on our faces. I am trying to work my way through some old family photos so that I can create a family album/scrapbook. Some of the pictures are becoming faded and yellow from sitting inside those old photo albums where the sheets had sticky backs to them. Turns out, that stuff fades your pictures! Not cool. So to go along with my scrap project, I am trying to save some old memories before they turn yellow and fade away.

Scrap Page #8-Carving Our White Pumpkins

So I said I'd been jumping around a bit with the pictures I've been working on, but considering that Halloween is a while from now, this is really a stretch! Plus, I'd much rather look forward to warmer weather than Halloween. Sorry, but its true. This layout is from a picture I took a few years ago. Michael and I saw a magazine cover that had white pumpkins on it and we thought it looked awesome. Once I read the article, I found out that the pumpkins were actually more of an art project than a freak of nature. (Duh.) The pumpkins had been painted white and then carved so that the orange inside would kinda glow when the pumpkin had a candle inside. So we busted out the white paint, waited for them to dry, then carved the pumpkins. The end result was really cool! But, like I said earlier, this picture was from a couple years ago. This last Halloween, we decided carving pumpkins was too time consuming so we didn't do it. haha! At least I have this layout done!
